How to Create Your Own Persona
Let’s walk through how to create a Persona from start to finish. Press “Create New” to begin the process.
To create a new custom Persona with full flexibility:
Navigate to the “Identity” section.
Select the “Custom” option.
Write your own directive specifying how you want the AI to behave. This allows you to craft a unique Persona tailored to your needs
This custom approach gives you complete control over the AI’s personality, knowledge base, and interaction style. You can define things like:
The AI’s background and expertise (e.g., “You are a financial analyst specializing in corporate development”)
Its communication style and tone (e.g., “Speak concisely and use industry jargon”)
Any specialized knowledge or skills
Areas of focus or topics to avoid
Particular behaviors, limitations, ethical guidelines, or decision-making frameworks
Take time to craft a clear, detailed directive for best results. You can always refine it later as you interact with your custom Persona. For the VP of Strategy, Marcus, the custom directive is simple and to the point:
How to Use Your AI Persona
Once your Persona is done, you are now ready to deploy, integrate, and interact with it in different ways. Start by creating a channel and place your Persona in it. Channels allow you to create dedicated spaces for projects, departments, or client groups, where your AI assists with coordinated efforts and shared knowledge:
Set up channels for teams or departments to centralize communication and project updates.
Allow your AI to contribute by sharing insights and ensuring everyone stays informed.
Leverage your company’s combined expertise, enabling teams to work faster and more efficiently.
How to Use the Same Persona for Different Tasks
Channel directives are powerful tools for customizing AI interactions within specific channels. They allow you to define and switch between different operational modes or tasks for an AI persona without changing the persona itself. These can be created and modified in your Persona settings.
For instance, you might have Marcus, your VP of Strategy AI, present in a channel. Here, channel directives would allow you to:
Seamlessly transition Marcus from drafting strategic plans to analyzing market data.
Maintain context and continuity with a consistent AI personality while adapting its focus and output to suit various needs within the same channel.
Repurpose a Persona’s capabilities for different tasks without losing the benefits of its specialized knowledge.
Once in a channel, locate the AI controls icon in the top right corner. Click on it to reveal a “Channel Directive” dropdown menu, where you can easily select and switch between different channel directives, instantly adapting your Persona’s focus to your current needs.
To switch between different AI Personas within the same channel, simply access the same AI Controls menu and select your desired Persona from the available options.
